Wishing all Beaute Fabuleuse readers a happy and prosperous Chinese/lunar new year, which begins on the 10th February! It’s the year of the Water Snake – Gui Si.
Image nicked from here.
May the year keep getting better for those who are already having a great one, and may it get better for those who were having a mediocre one :) Am full of anticipation for the year ahead (Even though astrologically the energies of the year have already started to enter quite some time ago, culminating on 4th February)- I believe that things will only get better, and I shall of course work to make it so! :D
Am spending my new year’s here in Labuan – even though the office is effectively closed during the holidays, there’s no holidays for us bar our employees/colleagues as we would still be working! Such is our work line :P I won’t be back in K.L. until the 23rd February and hopefully I will get a short breather then.
In the mean time, have fun for those who are having holidays, but for those who aren’t, may this “new start” (As the Chinese believe- since it’s considered the start of spring) bring positive things in your life! :)
Hello! Am now in Labuan and will most probably be here until the end of February :) It’s going to be quite a busy year for me- with courses and flying back and forth, but in the meantime I’ll still try to update as much as I can!
As most of you might know, I am here not only for work, but also for the solemnisation, or the registration of my marriage to my dear other half, which was held on the 19th January 2013 :) It was a short, legal ceremony at the National Registration Department with the ring exchange and signing of the marriage certificate, followed by a beach pre-wedding photoshoot, and finally a simple buffet dinner reception later that night at the Palm Beach Resort & Spa beach pavilion for our employees, friends, clients and suppliers here.
And… I actually did my own makeup for the whole day! :P It’s quite a feat considering how I don’t exactly have confidence in my own makeup skills, and for such an important event as well :s I also did my own hair! It’s not that I wanted to skimp on a hairdresser or a makeup artist, but there were no reliable ones here so I had no choice really :(
I have to say- this is the most makeup I’ve ever brought along to Labuan, as I usually go with the bare minimum and ones that are easier to travel with, but since this is a special occasion I guess allowances has to be made :P I’m also trying to go for a more natural, polished look, as it’s by the beach and not so formal so no need for anything special.
So what were the makeup I used for my big day?

I’d just like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy and wonderful new year ahead!
Also, to commemorate the new year- a new layout! What do you think? Let me know :D
2012 has been extremely great to me- it’s definitely been a year of massive changes and even with the so-called “bad” or “negative” changes, it’s definitely all for the better- laying down the foundation to a better future ahead, definitely, and improved as a person overall ;) Here’s to wishing that 2013 will be just as great if not better!
No new year’s resolutions- am not a fan of making and keeping them- just wishes that things will keep improving or at least maintain, and that even with obstacles, which are of course inevitable, things will turn out for the best and may we keep learning from them and keep becoming better people :D
Here’s some parting food for thought for the new year’s: a little paraphrased quote from Joey Yap, which I find very true and also live by: “Everyone is interested in the end result of something… but not many people are interested in doing the things… taking the action… going through the hard work to get to that end result“. So yes, to make when you want to happen happen, you’ll have to find out how and most importantly work for it! :)
Posts on beaute fabuleuse will resume as soon as and whenever I can, especially with 2013 planned out to be a busy one for me, what with my upcoming wedding, travels (Hopefully!) and courses! ;) Will try my best to update as much as possible!
P/S: Oh I nearly forgot- I’m on Pinterest now too! Here are my pin-boards :D
So very sorry for the longer-than-usual hiatus, that caused me to even miss the 1st anniversary of beaute fabuleuse on the 11th November! But a lot of things have been happening, so I guess it was inevitable :( I promise I definitely won’t forget beaute fabuleuse‘s 2nd anniversary next year, though ;) I’m still actually still quite considerably swamped as I write this, but I have to at least give some updates now do I? :P I feel really bad for neglecting to post for so long!
Anyway, first things first- a very Merry Christmas, season’s greetings and happy holidays, and here’s to a fabulous year ahead! I’m pretty sure mine will be great and I hope yours will be too ;)
So, now… let me put you up to speed on the happenings as of late right after the jump! Kind of wordy and picture-intensive though because there’s just so much I want to update :)
Many apologies for being absent pretty much this whole month of October! I am back in K.L., have been since the 13th October, but have been equally swamped- not with work this time (Though just a little bit)- but with other matters which I will update about as soon as I am able to, that’s a promise :)
The hiatus might continue for a while more, or it may not- I have managed to take some time to update my product photo collection (What I call photos of products I want to write about) so if I am able to steal more time to write there will be some posts, but otherwise apologies again for being MIA and thank you so much for your patience!
Unfortunately, I’ve not even had the time to properly shop for skincare/makeup products upon coming back, though I do take some time to “update” myself on what’s new in counters whenever I can, and don’t potter around unless it’s something I need to get as skincare/makeup is not exactly high on my priority list as of now. Can’t say the same about other things though :P However, because I cannot have a post without at least an image (It feels weird), here’s one of the very few recent skincare/makeup acquisitions I have managed to lay my hands on:
Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Rose, Guerlain Parure De Lumiere Light-Diffusing Foundation in 32 Ambre Clair (I might want to get another bottle in 31 Ambre Pale for when my tan goes away), Diorskin Nude By Dior Skin-Glowing Makeup in 021 Linen and Perricone MD Hypoallergenic Gentle Cleanser. Pardon the image quality if it’s different than usual- it’s taken without my usual photography props :P
Am also waiting for my latest Zuneta order to arrive- Rouge Bunny Rouge eyeshadows, anyone? :D
P/S: You can still follow me on Twitter if that’s your cup of tea- I’m still pretty much active there!
