… and a FOTD! Perhaps the very first one on beaute fabuleuse as well, even?
Now I was very excited when Lily of ChloeAsh Tweeted asking if any bloggers would love to join her and her lovely Femme Boulevard group as guests ushering in the year 2013 with style by doing a themed look (As Femme Boulevard always does every month- themed looks I mean)… and without a second thought I jumped at the offer…
This proved to be quite a challenge indeed, especially since Mum has had surgery (Her surgery was initially planned to be some time after February 2013 but it couldn’t be delayed any more due to her discomfort) and my time has been dedicated to taking care of her- making sure she does her exercises/physiotherapy and assisting her in moving around as she still needs the aid of a walker. But all is well- she’s doing much better as the days pass and I managed to come up with a look! It was not easy I tell you, especially for a makeup greenhorn such as myself :s
The theme? Shiny/metallic lids and bold/vampy lips.
Image nicked from BellaSugar.
I cracked my head for a few days wondering what should I do with the theme, and there were times I got so frustrated with experimenting I just wanted to pull out haha! I initially planned on doing a makeup mask, something like the one picture above but my inexperience and clumsy hands got the best of me :( So I had to do come up with something less elaborate and takes less skill…
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is what I came up with, after almost 2 hours of experimenting and playing around:

Here’s a little fact: I’ve had a huge crush on the brand Urban Decay ever since I’ve started seriously looking into makeup, about 4 years ago, and that hasn’t changed until now. It’s still one of the brands I’d definitely still look at and like, and I do currently own a few of their products- the 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero, 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Perversion, Cannonball Ultra Waterproof Mascara, 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Gash, and most recently the Naked2 palette, all of which I really, really like. The brand never fails to intrigue me with their packaging, for one, and I’ve been so far satisfied with all the stuff I’ve tried from them :P
So when I was trawling the Urban Decay website one day sometime in July, I came upon the announcement and then subsequently the launch of the new Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup (Quite a mouthful isn’t it? Let’s just refer it to the Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation), and it intrigued me. A lot. So much so that I really wanted to try it, being the foundation junkie and/or hoarder that I am, and since I’m getting into liquid foundations. And so I bought it from the U.S.A. Sephora website as soon as it was available :D

Hurrah for getting the Saturday Meme on its proper day this week! ;) Hopefully it shall continue becoming a tradition as I am quite enjoying it, though sometimes brainstorming the contents can be a pain! :P
In this week’s installment of the Saturday Meme, Sukie of A Little Bit Of Everything and I shall talk about our 5 favourite brands! Although admittedly I think we do favour more than 5 brands but for the sake of brevity we shall narrow it down to 5 or else it shall be a never-ending post :x
Without further adieu, here are my 5 favourite brands, again listed in no particular order:
I own and use the RMK Liquid Foundation (Reviewed here), RMK Pressed Powder N in 03 and the RMK Cheek Brush S, and I love them all! I have to say this is one makeup brand that has worked for me (More like my fussy, sensitive skin) so far and with good results, and I am mightily pleased with it so it earns a spot in this list! I would actually love to try more of their products- maybe their RMK Super Basic Liquid Concealer or RMK Super Basic Concealer Pact or eye make-up or lip products even (I’m not so sure yet myself!), but the downside for me is that the nearest available RMK counter to me isn’t exactly near so I don’t really have the luxury of being able to try out their products at my convenience… but I think it’s kind of a good thing in a way since that would mean my pocket is much happier :P
This is my first “gadgety” functional bag love, introduced to me by non other than my dearest functional-bag-loving boyfriend Louis. I love their concept and I love their designs. I own a customised D-Lux Bondage Messenger in XS (Just the right size for me, as their sizes run big!), which I got during my last trip to Singapore as they had a standalone store there, and it cost me SGD 179 so it wasn’t exactly cheap, but is worth every cent! I look forward to owning more Timbuk2 bags though- maybe a Cargo Tote or the Harriet Shoulder Bag or another Messenger since they’re so functional, comfortable, tough and sturdy, but maybe not for a while yet since I have another functional bag in the post for me from my sister from another mister ;)

Being mildly obsessive compulsive, I like having a routine, and my skincare routine especially is one thing I never skip irregardless. There were a few times that I fell sick, but I still managed to go on with my skincare routine :P It just feels so awkward and weird just not having done my skincare routine! :\
Now I thought I’d let you all have a little peek into my “virtual” cupboard and let you see my skincare and makeup routine :P
So this is what I do in the mornings:
I cleanse with Dr Andrew Weil For Origins Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief Face Cleanser, tone with Cellnique Soothing And Hydrating Lotion, apply Cellnique Intensive Hydrating Complex followed by Melvita Calendula Oil and top it off with Marie Veronique Organics Moisturizing Face Screen SPF30- Light Tint. Dr Andrew Weil For Origins Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief Eye Serum goes around my peepers after cleansing and before everything else.
